At Spirit Brood Theological Seminary, our self-directed,
self-paced study model offers you the flexibility to tailor your learning experience
to fit your schedule and commitments. Below is an overview of how our study process
works, designed to help you succeed as you journey through your theological education:
Once you accept your admission offer, the seminary will provide links to all the courses required for your program. You’ll have immediate access to your curriculum and can start your studies right away.
Our program is self-directed, meaning you are responsible for setting your own pace, studying independently, and completing all term papers without supervision. This approach allows you to develop both discipline and independence in your academic journey. Your success in the Seminary will, therefore, come from taking initiative and being able to actively and independently engage with your coursework.
You are allowed to study at your own pace. As such, you can finish earlier or later than your expected graduation date. This flexible model allows you to complete your program on a timeline that works best for you. You can apply for graduation as soon as you are done with your course work and thesis.
You will receive a link to your personal submission portal, a unique Google Drive folder where you will submit all your term papers. In addition to your term papers, you’ll be required to upload certain documents at the commencement of your program. Please ensure these documents are complete and submitted to avoid delays in graduation.
Each student is paired with a personal mentor who will meet with you once a month to discuss your progress and provide guidance. During your first session, your mentor will help establish a regular schedule for these monthly one-hour sessions, where you can seek clarity and support on course topics and assignments.
As a tuition-free institution, we streamline our resources and staffing for essential services. To help us serve you effectively, please refrain from sending unsolicited messages or emails. Relay any academic questions to your mentor during your monthly sessions, and they will direct your inquiries to the appropriate sources. Only direct messages for urgent matters.
Success in a self-directed program depends largely on your ability to follow instructions closely. Pay careful attention to all guidelines, including those in your coursework and submissions, as this will be key to your success and progress.
